WOW!!! What a gig!

Since my last post (2 weeks ago) The Pride has performed two gigs, both fairly large. The first was a wedding reception held at the Chateau Bromont - a place we very much enjoy working. The usual hours-long setup by Brian Tyler and myself was followed by a rather long break, during which we were fed in the outdoor, rooftop restaurant. A rare thing for us, we actually got to relax before playing, as there was a DJ to take care of the cocktail/supper situation. Once the four of us took the stage there was no holding back. We launched directly into the dancing music and the crowd, eager for some fun, jumped up and filled the dance floor within a minute. It pretty much stayed that way throughout the rest of the event and the wedding party enthusiastically thanked us for a job well done. If you'd like to see some pics visit our website's photo page and click on the Wedding 7 gallery.

The second gig was, in some ways, even more fun, primarily because we were performing as a 6 piece band, something we do all too infrequently. It also helped that the crowd, from all over Canada and the US, were friendly, fun-loving and genuinely wanted to party with us. This gig was held at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal on the top floor. It was not easy getting the gear to the stage and getting out at the end of the event was a bit of a nightmare, but the time in between - the show - was fantastic. We literally had people dancing on the tables (and the dance floor, too, of course). I'd like to congratulate Samara and Brian for an even more energetic and exciting performance than usual. They truly outdid themselves, raising the bar to new heights.

While the upcoming Holiday Season is rapidly filling with confirmed gigs we still have some available dates so if you'd like to have The Pride for your corporate party contact us via our website:

Lastly, in case you were wondering, we do in fact have pictures from the PMA event at the Palais, courtesy of our friend Manny DaMota. Go to www.theprideband.com/pics.html and click on the Corporate 12 gallery. Until next time... ciao!
