Summer's End, 2009

I can't believe it's already Labour Day weekend coming up. The summer flew by and although it was lousy as far as weather was concerned, my band members and I had a great time. We wrapped up our summer schedule with a wedding reception and an outdoor campground gig, but before that, and between other gigs, was of course the series of 5 shows for the Montreal International Fireworks competition. These shows were held in the Belvedere hall at the Marina, which is located at the La Ronde site. Each show, for the VIP sponsors, was a single 90 minute power set from the moment the guests returned from watching the fireworks until sometime around midnight. The audiences were great and my band really put everything into each show. Thanks to their hard work we've been asked back for next year. We'll leave the negotiations in the capable hands of Cindy Raider, of Nat Raider Productions, who had originally proposed our band for these events.
Unfortunately I have no photos from the wedding gig we last performed (more accurately the haze machine we used made all pictures look greyed out as a result of the flash, though it did wonders for the light show), but I did put up a gallery of pics taken from some of the VIP soirées for the Fireworks competition. Just go to http://theprideband.com/pics.html and click on Corporate 15.
That's it for the summer and as we roll into fall The Pride is looking forward to our next bookings, as usual a mix of corporate and wedding gigs. I'll post again with a fall wrapup in a few months if not sooner.
