The Pride at the Chateau Bromont
On Friday, May 4th, 2007 The Pride performed to a packed hall at the Chateau Bromont for a fundraiser benefiting La Maison au Diapason in Bromont. Supper service and the speeches took longer than expected and we began to wonder whether we would perform at all. Finally, at a little past 11 PM we took the stage and launched into some dancing music straightaway to a very eager crowd.
From the first chords the crowd rushed to dance floor and stayed there throughout the entire set. Following a short break we took the stage once again and gave the audience a taste of some Island and Latin music. Samara led a conga line through the hall and then got the dancers to limbo before racing back to the stage to sing the next song. Once again we kept the audience on the floor from beginning to end. The third set was much like the first two but since some of the older folks had left (it was past 1 in the morning) we threw in some classic rock to vary things up a bit.
What an incredible night! The Pride works hard to entertain our audiences and when we perform to such an enthusiastic crowd it makes it all worthwhile. I've uploaded a new gallery of photos from the event. Go to www.theprideband.com photos page and click on the latest gallery - Corporate 8 - to see the thumbnails. We received a piece of good news that evening as well - the Chateau Bromont has hired us to perform once again for their New Year's Eve party! We very much look forward to that but in the meantime we have a ton of shows to do between now and then. I'll write again soon with more show information.
